Friends of the Groveland Library

The Friends of the Groveland Library is a group of town residents who seek to improve and support the Langley-Adams Library through fundraising. With funds raised by the Friends, the library is able to offer more author events, lectures, programs for all ages, and a bigger, more diverse library collection.

Friends members pay annual dues and meet monthly or as necessary to plan and host fundraising events. Whether you just want to help with a single book sale or become a dedicated member, there is a place for you! We welcome donations of time, money, experience, energy, and ideas, no matter your schedule!

For updates on events and meetings, please join our Facebook group!

The Friends of the Groveland Library is just getting started on its mission. We became an official 501(c)3 in May and have since had several fundraisers, such as hosting a kids’ book and bake sale at the summer reading kick-off event in June, providing popcorn for movie Fridays in July, and providing refreshments at the Flying High Dogs program in August. But we’re not done! Monday, August 26, we will be providing drinks and snacks during the outdoor Elvis concert.

These small events have certainly given us a boost, but our big fundraiser is coming up on September 7. During Groveland Day, the Friends will be hosting a book sale in the library from 10:00-2:00. AND HERE’S THE BEST PART: members of the Friends can FILL A BAG of books for $4 for the entire book sale (non-member price per bag is $8). Customers can choose to buy one or a few books for 50 cents or $1 each (excepting specially priced items), but the bag sale will NOT be limited to the last hour of the book sale. Bags should be the equivalent in size of a plastic grocery bag, please.

If you would like to help out with the upcoming concert or book sale, please contact secretary Liz Jones, or Dael Angelico-Hart
